Areas of Expertise

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy refers to a range of talk-based treatments designed to help people:

  • Understand and manage emotional difficulties

  • Address mental health symptoms (like anxiety, depression, trauma)

  • Improve relationships and coping skills

  • Explore patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on exploring the unconscious mind, early life experiences, and emotional patterns that influence current behavior and relationships.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It's based on the idea that how you think affects how you feel and what you do—and by changing unhelpful thought patterns, you can change your emotional experience and behavior.

My Approach

People come to therapy for many reasons such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss and trauma to name a few. I meet you with compassion and an open mind to see if we are a good fit for one another. Therapy is about you, your story and your journey. It is my hope to help guide the outcome of your journey.

Therapists use theories, or approaches, to help guide the process and uncover hidden ideas, thoughts, beliefs, feelings; My approach is to do this through Psychodynamic Threory which looks at early life experiences and how they could be impacting you today, along with, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, or CBT, as our thoughts about the self, others and the future tend to impact us as well and, eclecticism as mine is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I meet you where you are at and use skills and modalities to best meet your needs.

Therapy is a process and during treatment we will develop goals and a treatment plan that is designed to help you get the most out of our time together.
